Upcoming Maker Faires in Texas

I decided to start a new topic in the forums, and I figured I’d be (mildly) generic (although Texas-specific as I live in Texas (Houston)).

Kicking things off, I thought I’d let the community know that Houston will have their 3rd annual “mini-maker faire” on November 14th (see http://www.houstonmakerfaire.com/ ).

As I understand it, the “mini” means “no more than a day” (full blown faires are multi-day).

Pricing is :

  • Adult: $12.00
  • Child (under the age of 3 gets in free): $7.00
  • Student (for college students ages 18+): $8.00
  • Family 4-Pack (up to 4 members of the same household): $30.00
  • Teachers : free (have to pre-register and show teacher ID at the door).

Last year we had 2500 or so, we hope to have 3000+ this time. All the local makerspaces will be there (6 with several in formation) and hopefully other makerspaces from around the state (and the country) as well as amazing arts & crafts (ETSY) plus other goodies. Co-sponsors include the Houston Museum of Science and the Children’s Museum.
