Young Thug protégés Lil Baby and Gunna have become the biggest rap stars out of Atlanta through hard work and dedication. The mixtape outputs of Lil Baby and Gunna over the years have mirrored Thugger and even Gucci Mane. As more new shit dropped, Lil Baby and Gunna stayed in the conversation, controlling the market for a moment in time.

The Drip Harder duo may only be in their mid-20s, but they made veteran moves in satisfying their fans with enough product to avoid a drought. Lil Baby is doing this again with the deluxe version of My Turn by adding six new songs, including “All In.”

Fast-rising signee of Young Thug’s YSL Records, Lil Gotit, has slowly taken over Atlanta’s trap scene, blending a range of street-worthy bars and adlibs alongside psychedelic-clad trap instrumentals. Alongside his older brother, Lil Keed, the young 20-year-old has carved out a promising future, showcasing his strengths in 2018’s debut album, Hood Baby, as well as his Crazy But It’s True, The Real Goat, and Superstar Creature projects. Today, Gotit returns with the follow-up to his riotous debut album, Hood Baby 2.

Chock-full of nightlife-ready, car-blasting trap anthems, the 18-track project sees the rapper recruiting a slew of features from some of Atlanta’s top OGs to a variety of auspicious up-and-comers. Future, Gunna, Lil Yachty, Lil Keed, Guap Tarantino, B Slime, and many more appear on the record. Production-wise, Gotit continues to tap into his extensive list of co-conspirators. Frequent collaborators 10Fifty, DMC, and RokOnTheTrack all lend their talents to the project, with the likes of Dutch loopmaker Starboy, Hurtboy AG, and more also included.

It’s a foolproof strategy that a lot of rappers use to accelerate their star power in the game.

Atlanta’s Lil Gotit is the younger brother of Lil Keed, who is signed to Thug’s YSL Records. But on paper, Lil Gotit is actually signed to Alamo Records who popped when his song “Da Real HoodBabies” turned into a TikTok challenge. If you never heard of Lil Keed or Lil Gotit, they’re essentially the sum of Thug, Gunna, and Lil Baby combined – the third generation of Thugger’s style. The brothers are constantly locked in the studio – Lil Keed followed 2019’s Long Live Mexico with A-Team (Zaytoven, Lil Yachty) – while Lil Gotit set off 2020 with Superstar Creature executive produced by London On Da Track.

Gotit started taking rap seriously in 2016 and has since become a protégé of Young Thug. In other words, he’s one of ATL’s rising rap stars and Hood Baby 2 is here to keep his name buzzing.

Earlier this month, he released the banger “Never Legit.” The album clocks in at 19 tracks, many of which were released ahead of the full track list. Frequent collaborator Zaytoven lends his production skills, and fellow producers ThatBoyCash and Wheezy also supplied heat on the project.

Lil Gotit is able to stir multiple pots and is surly working on future projects as Hood Baby 2 drops. An earlier version of the track list had 30 plus songs, so there is definitely some music he is keeping under wraps for now. Much of his previous work, which may be new for some, would also be worth including, but track lists have their limits.

As an artist, Lil Gotit has everything like his name suggests. “I got a shopping addiction,” were his words during an interview with The Fader last year. With no shortage of drip, they dubbed him the heir to Atlanta’s rap throne.
